Welcome to the charming and historic neighborhood of Linden Hills in Minneapolis – the small village in the city.  The neighborhood is bounded by 36th St W./Lake Calhoun on the north, William Berry Pkwy on the east, 47th St W. on the south, and France Ave. on the west. The neighborhood borders Lakes Calhoun and Harriet, and incorporates several parks. Linden Hills is adjacent to the Fulton neighborhood to the south and the West Calhoun neighborhood on the north. Edina is its neighbor to the west across France Ave.

The neighborhood, named by the developer for the linden trees and rolling terrain, was developed in the 1880s to entice homebuyers to leave downtown for cottages on Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet. Most of the original cottages have been replaced by large bungalows and Tudors. The main platform and carbarn of the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line are also located in the neighborhood, near West 42nd Street and Queen Avenue. Linden Hills has several bustling commercial nodes: 43rd St. & Upton Ave., 44th St. & Beard Ave., and 44th St. & France Ave.

The Lake Harriet Bandshell is located on the lake shore on the eastern edge of the neighborhood. The current bandshell, constructed in 1985, is a fifth-generation music venue on the lake. The first two were destroyed by fire, the third was destroyed by a wind storm, and the fourth was demolished in 1985.
