Congressman Ellison, in collaboration with the City of Minneapolis, is hosting a community meeting on August 27 to talk about the status of RNAV – a type of navigation that puts planes on a more precise track, leading to consolidation of airplane traffic and noise. The meeting will be held Tuesday, August 27 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Washburn High School, 201 W. 49th St.

Minneapolis successfully halted implementation of RNAV over our city last November due to insufficient information and unanswered questions about how the consolidation of flights would affect residents in an urban setting. Minneapolis and partners were able to prevail upon the Metropolitan Airports Commission to request more time and to develop a better plan.

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison is holding this forum to discuss the questions Minneapolis residents would like to have answered before RNAV’s implementation at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International airport. The information from this meeting will help clarify questions about RNAV and impact the FAA’s process.
